Beginnings

Besides the usual busyness and headaches of moving into a new house, our move to Boise has been great for our family. The Lord has provided for us a nice, old little house on the coolest street in town... Harrison Blvd... close to great parks for the kids, a happenin' downtown scene, and miles upon miles of great mountain biking and trail running (not to mention that Harrison turns into Bogus Basin Rd, leading up to the ski hill). Aside from missing family and friends, we are exceptionally happy, enjoying the sunny weather and the activity, and feeling like we have come to a place that we are grateful to call Home.

The Lord has made it clear to us that our first order of business is to hang out with people, build relationships, and get involved in the eclectic community of the north end. How are we doing that? Well, so far by having new friends over for BBQ's, hanging out in the neighborhood, and hitting the trails. Evidently I'm out there enough that I've earned a nickname... at least among a few faithful trail travelers. I was stopped on the trail after a long run talking to a friend from REI, when this mountain biker paused for a minute as he rode by. "Hey, man," I said, greeting him, and he replied, "You're the Happy Runner... that's what we call you, the Happy Runner." So I guess I'm unusually friendly compared to most! Ha... not a bad way to be known out there, I suppose... and not a bad start.

Thanks for your prayers.
